Cambodia is land of rich, Cultural, Natural, historical, heritage and kingdom of wonder. The magnificent temple of Angkor are unrivalled in the region and beyond the rich legacy of the Khmer empire lie the buzzing capital of Phnom Penh, hundreds of kilometers of unspoilt tropical beaches, the mighty Mekong River, a vibrant culture and some of the friendliest people in the region. However, it is not the most sophisticated destination in the world, making it all the more charming for many, so pack some patience and humour . It is full of surprises, a place for an adventure as much as a holiday........................, Welcome To Cambodia.
Phnom Penh sits at the confluence of the Mekong, Tonle Bassac and Tonle Sap River Long considered the loveliest of the French-building cities of Indochina, its charm, while tarnished, has largenly managed to survive the violence of its recent history and current crop of property speculators. Most of Phnom Penh's tourist attractions are low-key, which means that many travelers spend only a short time here. this is a pity; Phnom Penh is a city that is rediscovering itself and , after the obligatory sightseeing circuit is completed. a fascinating place to take in at leisure. the French left a legacy of now–crumbling colonial architecture, some of which is being tastefully renovated; the wats buddhist temple-monasteries have come back to life with a passion-monks in saffron robes can be seen wandering around carrying alms bowls; and there are great restaurants all over the city, an ideal warm-up for the lively nightshift. The riverfront area in Phnom Penh is undoubtedly one of the most splendid in Asia , lined with swaying palms and billowing flags, the mightiest river in Asia, the Mekong, converging and diverging as a backdrop. After many years of neglect, Phnom Penh at last seems to be on the move and, if it can learn from the mistakes of its larger neighbours, it could once again become the pearl of Asia.
Angkor Wat–Siem Reap is the gateway to Cambodia’s spiritual and cultural heartbeat, the temples of Angkor. the town was a quiet, sleepy backwater until a few years ago, but it’s quickly reinventing itself as a sophisticated centre for the new wave of visitors passing through each year. If Cambodia is hot right now, then Sime Reap is at boiling over, the one place everyone coming to Cambodia will hit during their visit. Around the center, it remains a charming town with rural qualities. Old fre.ch shop-houses, shady tree-lined boulevards and a gentle winding river are remnants of the past, while five-star hotels, air-con buses and international restaurants !re pointers to the future going up every month, restaurants and bars every week. tourism is the lifeblood of Siem Reap and without careful management it could become Siep Reapolinos, the notso Costa-del-Culture of southeast Asia. however, there are promising signs that developers are learning from the mistakes that have blighted other regional hot sopts, with restrictions on the height of hotels and bus sizes. Either way, Angkor is centre stage on the world travel map right now and there is no going back for its supply line, Siem Reap is just north of the western extent of Tonle Sap lake. lt is the perfect place from which to plan your adventures.

PREAH VIHEAR MOUNTAINTOP Prasat Preah Vihear nearby Thailand and Lao to north,as well as Siem Reap, Oddar Meanchey, Stung Treng and kampong Thom within Cambodia.Much of the province is extremely remote and heavily forested, although large logging concessions are doing their best to change this, carving huge tracts of pristine tropical harwoods out of the landscape, the province remains desperately poor, thanks in part to a disastrous infrastructure with no major roads in existence, the imposing mountain timple and most dramatic location of all of the Angkorian monuments, perched atop the cliff face of Chuor Phom Dangkrek, towering 625m above the plains below, the views from this most mountainous of temple mountains are breathtaking: lowland Cambodia stretching as far as the eye can see, holy mountain of Phnom Kulen looming in the distance.
ANLONG VENG KHMER ROUGE for almost a decade, this was the ultimate of Khmer Rouge strongholds-home to Pol Pot, Nuon Chea, Khieu Samphan and Ta Mok, the most notorious leaders of Democratic Kampuchea. at the same time that Pol Pot mysteriously died near the thai boder, and soon after Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered that a major road be bulldozed through the jungle to ensure the population didn’t have second thoughts about ending the war, the average visitor will find big of interest here compared with what is on offer around Angkor, but for those with a keen interest in contemporary Cambodia history it is an important part of mesmerized, as well as some dense jungle and compelling views.
